Whoever drinks beer may pray and his prayer will be lawful if he has not not become inebriated. Allah says “O you who believe, approach not prayers in a state of intoxication until you can understand all that you say.” [Sûrah al-Nisâ’: 43]
It can be understood from the verse that people are allowed to pray if they are not drunk or if they have sufficiently sobered.
I must remind myself and the questioner that we should fear Allah and avoid His punishment and His wrath, as drinking liquor is a major sin and the one who drinks it is cursed by the Prophet (peace be upon him).
It is narrated from Ibn `Umar that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “In the course of liquor Allah has cursed it, the one who drinks it, the one who pours it for others to drink, the one who sells it, the one who buys it, the one who presses it, the one for whom it is pressed, the one who transports it and the one for whom it is transported.” [Musnad Ahmad]
